This program consists of a comprehensive exercise progression that is individualized, and sport-specific to help athletes decrease their risk of injury. This program can be implemented on an individual or team basis and will typically run for six consecutive weeks. These programs include exercise training techniques that address the whole body, however they are designed to emphasize and build resilience in body regions and structures that are most affected by participation in a given sport. This means that a program designed for an athlete participating in basketball will differ from that of a program created for a soccer athlete. When implemented consistently and appropriately, injury risk reduction programs have been shown to be highly effective strategies for keeping athletes healthy and on the field of play.
